Radar manual

PRO

The cars around you, drawn as cars and at their real distance. A PRO plan overlay of Raptor Racing Overlay.

Your car sits in the center, in gold. Ahead is up and behind is down.

Each rival is drawn with the shape of its car: GT, prototype, formula or stock car.

If someone is beside you, that side of the disc turns red.

It only reads iRacing data: it never changes anything on your car.

  1. 1Your car: always in the center, in gold.
  2. 2The car alongside: door to door, it turns red.
  3. 3The red sector: on the side where someone is. Closer, redder.
  4. 4A car that just passed you: it stays in its lane, ahead on your right.
  5. 5A car behind: with nobody beside you, it's in your column, at its real distance.
  6. 6The rings: one every 5 m. The edge is the range: 15 m by default.

What iRacing doesn't tell

  • iRacing tells how many meters each car is ahead or behind.
  • It also tells if someone is on your left or right.
  • It doesn't tell how far to the side. That's why the car beside you is drawn in its lane, next to yours.
  • A car with no known side sticks to your tail (or your nose) until iRacing says the side.

When it shows

  • By default, it shows up when someone comes into range.
  • It hides a moment after nobody is left.
  • With Always visible, even with nobody nearby, it stays on screen.
  • In the garage and in replays it hides, unless you check it in WHERE IT SHOWS.
  • It also shows on your phone or tablet (wifi connection) and in OBS with Streaming.
